What is WMCCAI?
The Washington Metropolitan Chapter of Community Associations Institute (WMCCAI) serves the educational, business, and networking needs of the community association industry in 20 cities/counties in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Members include professional managers and community volunteers from condominium, cooperative, and homeowner associations as well as those who provide services and products to associations. The Washington Metropolitan Chapter has more 2,700 members including 400 businesses, 600 professsional managers from 100 management companies, and community colunteers from more than 800 associations representing 300,000 households. Our members trust us for the most comprehensive and credible information about community associations and the community association industry. This is the primary reason why WMCCAI is the largest chapter in Community Assoications Institute's national network of 57 chapters.
How Does WMCCAI Serve its Members?
- provides networking and referral opportunities and frequent meetings with community association board members, community managers and the professionals who serve community associations;
- publishes QuorumTM, a 36-page monthly magazine with a direct circulation of 4,000 readers. QuorumTM covers the trends in association living and management.
- provides up to date information located on our web site at www.CAIDC.org;
- provides members with a yearly membership directory, putting them in touch with more than 2,700 other community association leaders from more than 800 area associations, as well as 100 management companies, over 600 community managers, and nearly 400 providers of goods and services to associations;
- advances excellence through seminars, workshops, conferences and educational programs, some of which lead to professional designations or continuing education credits;
- provides access to CAI publications, the largest collection of resources available on community associations, including books, guides, Common Ground magazine, and specialized newsletters on community association finance, law management, and volunteer leadership;
- advocates community association interests before legislatures, regulatory bodies, and the courts. Timely legislative information is provided through national and local legislative alerts and regular updates in our magazine;
- acts as a clearinghouse for information on innovations and best practices in community association creation and management.

- Nearly 75% of the WMCCAI membership is comprised of community association leaders from condominium or homeowner associations.
- WMCCAI has 100 management company members and over 600 individual manager members.
- More than 200 members actively volunteer their time to the Chapter.
- WMCCAI will offer over 40 educational programs in 2007, including: 13 at Conference & Expo, 11 PMDP Manager education courses, four (4) Essentials of Community Association Volunteer Leadership programs, two (2) additional educational programs, and an online E-Learning center.
