Robert Blend

Bob attended college at Bowling Green State University, earning his business degree by double majoring in Advertising and Selling and Sales Management.  Bob was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma which recognizes outstanding achievement by collegians in the School of Business. Bob attended Wake Forest University School of Law earning his law degree in 1985. Bob is a member of the Texas College of Real Estate Attorneys and a member of the State Bar of Texas - Property Owners Association Committee, and has been a member of the Community Associations Institute, since 1990. Bob has actively participated in dealing with legislation concerning property owners associations and he has given speeches, served as an instructor and participated in round table legal discussions concerning property owners associations, and has also held positions in the local chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI), all as part of his firm's commitment to maintaining its reputation for providing high quality legal services and leadership in the legal community. Bob has been honored by being selected as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and Dallas Bar Foundation and he is the recipient of the highest rating an attorney can receive, an AV Rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is one of the oldest law directories in the country

Stacy Shepherd

After graduating from Texas A+M with B.S. in Landscape Architecture, Stacy began work with a small garden center in the Interior Landscape profession. Within two years, Stacy had moved from managing the Interiorscape portion of the American Garden Center business to purchasing it from the owner in 1982. After developing this business into a 2-million dollar per year enterprise, Stacy sold what was now American Garden Interiors, Inc. to Orkin Plantscaping in 1992, a national division of Orkin Pest Control.  Stacy accepted the position of Customer Service Manager for one of their largest branches in the country and held that position for two years until being promoted to Branch Manager in 1994.  In 1996, Stacy accepted the position of Interiorscape Division manager with a well-established family-owned Landscape/Nursery business in the DFW area, North Haven Gardens.  From 1996 until 2000, Stacy developed and built their Interior Landscape Division into one of the most respected and successful in the city, with award-winning projects and a strong client base.  In 2000 Stacy began her sales career with a San Antonio-based Interiorscape company just beginning to build it's presence in the DFW area.  Stacy has been developing new relationships and business partnerships for ValleyCrest Landscape Maintenance, formerly North Haven Gardens, since 2004.

Stacy has been or is currently involved in the following organizations:  International Facility Mangers Association; Building Owners and Managers Association; National Association of Church Facility Managers and has been a CAI-DFW member since 2002.  Stacy has served on the membership committee.

Michele Hernandez, CMCA, AMS, President of Advanced Association Management, Inc., has over twenty five years in the real estate management industry, with the last fourteen in community association management.  Michele's common interest community portfolios have included master planned communities with mixed use entities of hospital, retail, commercial, condominiums, townhomes and single family property owners associations.

Michele specializes in single family property owner associations, townhome and condominium associations.  She has expertise with developer controlled associations from start up through the transition to homeowner controlled associations.  Through these relationships she founded her company, Advanced Association Management, Inc.  AAM continues to grow due to personalized customer service and professionalism.  Her extensive communication ensures smooth transitions and satisfies the professionally managed communities. 

Michele's dedication to the industry continues through her Community Association Institute's membership, volunteerism and education for professional designations.  Michele has earned and maintains both the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and the Association Management Specialist (AMS) designations.  As an active, involved member of the local DFW chapter of CAI, she extends her support to its policies and programs for managers and homeowners within the industry.  Michele was a recipient of the "2007 Distinguished Volunteer Award" from Community Association Institute.  She has served as chair of the CAI Programming Committee and has been elected to its Board of Directors for 2012 through 2014.

Michael Walker
Bridlewood Homeowners Association

Michael is semi-retired, and working part-time as a Benefits Advisor for the group-employee benefits businesses of MetLife. Prior to his present role, Mike held investment management positions with insurance and financial services companies. He focused on commercial real estate assets, on behalf of his employer, and international and pension fund clients. In this role, Mr. Walker  acquired, developed, managed and disposed of their real estate investments.

Mike's earlier career involved land use planning positions with state and local governments, and an engineering company. He helped counties and towns develop master plans, adopt zoning/land development codes, and receive various financial and intergovernmental, technical assistance.

Mr. Walker's community activities include being a member of the Architectural Review Committee of Flower Mound's Bridlewood Homeowners Association, Inc., and a past President of their HOA Board of Directors. Michael also is the Chairman of the Town's Transportation Commission, and has previously served on their Board of Adjustment, Oil and Gas Board of Appeals, Planning and Zoning Commission and Park Board. Prior to living in Texas, Mike served on the Plan Commission of Naperville, IL, the Office Council of the Downtown Denver Partnership, and the Chicago Development Council.

Michael is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, and functioned in the Civil Affairs branch. He conducted civil-military training and operations, and interacted with various foreign governments to facilitate U.S. military, interagency, civilian, and host nation effectiveness. Mike's last assignment was as a contingency planner and crisis action manager on the command staff of the U.S. Pacific Command in Hawaii.

Mr. Walker earned a Master of Urban & Regional Planning degree from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairfield (CT) University.

Laurie Knight, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, MPM
Classic Property Management

Laurie Knight is President/CEO of Classic Property Management and Classic Real Estate Services in Arlington, Texas.  Laurie has earned her Association Management Specialist (AMS) and the highest professional designation of Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM).  She has also received her Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) from the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers.  In addition to her professional designations from CAI, Laurie has also earned the Master Property Manager (MPM) designation from the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM).  As a Realtor, Laurie is a member of the Arlington Board of Realtors.  Other professional memberships include the Fort Worth/Mid-Cities Chapter of NARPM, Apartment Association of Greater Dallas and Apartment Association of Tarrant County.  She has an extensive history of service on boards, committees, etc.  In the DFW Chapter, Laurie has served on the Programming and Social Committees.

 

.Ron Stephens, CMCA, AMS, PCAM

Ron Stephens was named CCMC vice president in 2006 and currently provides executive guidance for communities in Texas and northwest Florida. Starting as a maintenance director in 1989, Ron has been a valuable part of the CCMC team. Since that time, he has served in a number of operational leadership roles, including director of maintenance and community manager for Hackberry Creek in Irving, Texas. Ron holds a bachelors degree in business administration from Trinity University. He is active in the Dallas Fort Worth Chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI) and served as chapter president in 2009. Since 2005, he has served on the chapter's board of directors. Ron is also on the advisory committee for the Texas Community Association Advocates (TCAA). Ron is recognized as a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) by the National Board of Certification of Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM). He has also been awarded both the Association Management Specialist (AMS) and prestigious Professional Community Associations Manager (PCAM) designation from CAI, and is a licensed Florida Community Association Manager.

Rick Tuzinski
Pavecon, Ltd.

Rodrick (Rick) Tuzinski is a part owner and Sales and Marketing Manager for Pavecon. Rick has been with the company since January 2000. 

Rick began his career serving two tours of duty in the U.S. Army, primarily stationed in Germany.  In 1988, Rick received his accreditation as an Engineering Technician from Arizona State University and began his career in the construction industry.  Rick has worked in sales, management, quality control, and inspections.

Rick has been very active in the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas, the Apartment Association of Tarrant County, BOMA, ACI, and CAI, as well as construction related associations.  Rick has served on several committees as well as the PSC Council.

Rick is an endurance athlete, participating in several triathalons over the years, including the Hawaiian Ironman in 1997 and trail runs in excess of marathon distances such as the 50 miler Sunmart held in Huntsville. His most recent achievement was to complete 96 miles of a 100 mile run in Vermont in July of 1999.  For the last three years, he has coached girl's soccer.  Rick's other passion is hovercrafting.

Rick has two older sons, and a young daughter with his wife, Cathy.
